Before beginning the conversion processes, you should familiarize your self with areas of the shell that require attention. The conversion of your old remote to the new shell takes patience (and sometimes trial and error) but the final result is well worth your efforts.
When installing your old electronics board, there are three areas in the shell that MUST be installed properly. The board MUST be seated under (or over) these points (A, B, and C) or the buttons will not work correctly (and will constantly be depressed & the red LED will flash continuously). When closing the remote if the red LED is flashing continuously try pressing the buttons. This may fix your issue and if so, the conversion is be complete. If this does not fix the continuous flashing light, the shell must be reopened and the board adjusted so that points A, B, and C are aligned properly.
When installing the main electronics board, first slide the board under the plastic tab shown in the photo (Part A). Next, line up the peg with the hole in your electronics board and press down so that the board snaps under the tab in Part B. Next (with the board properly seated under the tabs in Part A and Part B, line up the hole in Part C and use the screw provided to fasten the board into Part C.
The section below shows the proper installation and provides additional tips.
This photo shows the proper board installation. The board is seated under the tabs in Part A and Part B as well as the peg protruding thru the board in Part B .
This photo shows a larger view of the main areas of installation. As above, when installing the board if at any time it pops out from any of the tabs, restart the installation and reseat the board until it is properly installed.
The videos below demonstrate the conversion processes. During the installation, refer to the photo to the right and ensure that your board is installed correctly. Once your board is installed correctly you may proceed with closing the shell and completing your conversion.
NOTE: If the board is not installed correctly, when the shell is closed, the red LED will flash continuously. The shell must be reopened and the installation restarted (until the board is installed correctly in all three installation points (A, B, and C).

Detailed video demonstrating VW Shell conversion (including transfer of chip and (optionally) key blade). The shell in this video is NOT the same as the 2021 Mod however the demonstration of part removal is more detailed than the video above and can be applied to the conversion into the 2021 mod shell.
NOTE: Installing the key blade into the new shell does not require hammering in a fastening pin. Instead, use the screwdriver provided to remove the 2 small screws and swap with your blade.
